During this week (22-26 Feb), we started the class on Monday by conducting a quiz game relating to the tenses topic that we learned last Friday. Mr Mike will give us questions about past tense, present tense, perfect tense, continuous tense, etc and the team who gets the most point wins. In the end, my group wins, which decides the time of the test which is next Thursday. On Thursday, I was forced to stay at home due to not feeling well despite there is a test (damn!). I remind myself to ask Mr Mike if I can do the quiz on Wednesday.

During this week (15-19 Feb), we started the class on Monday with introduction to this term's vocabulary and search for the meaning of the vocals that we don't understand. We continue writing on our workshop and prepare for the test that will be hold some time on this week. On Thursday, we do the quiz for this term's vocabularies by explaining the definition of the given vocabs in our own word. We also need to create an example of sentence where the word can be used properly. On Friday, we start learning about tenses such as past tense, present tense, perfect tense, continuous tense, etc. We were told to discuss as a group since there will be quiz game relating to this topic and the winner team gets to decide when will the test be hold. This week (9-12 Feb) we started from Thursday by conducting an informal debate in groups about Apple vs Microsoft. My group will be supporting Apple. The debate does not goes as successful as expected, but its still a practice debate so its fine. We then wrote our reflection on the debate in weebly. I think that the debate goes well and I’m already well prepared, its just that there is too little time for so many people. On Friday, we were told to fill our weekly weekly reflection as usual. After that, we did a vocabulary activity of all the words posted in the word wall. We pick six words and research about what it is and how it goes in a sentence. However we still have to understand all of the words placed on the word wall since Mr. Mike will conduct a test related to those vocabularies some time later. This week (1-5 Feb), we started the class on Monday by doing vocabulary activity related to our group topic, mine is about robotics. After we find the definition of the vocabs, we write it into a sentence and a paragraph. Mr. Mike is absent so Mr. Jeff replaced him instead. On Thursday, Mr. Mike told us that we are going to have an informal debate on Thursday about the topic Microsoft vs Apple. My group’s topic is Apple, which means that we will prove that Apple is better than Microsoft. We started doing our research that day and wrote down the important informations that we wanted to say during the debate later. On Friday, as usual we started the class by filling our weebly website. Then, we were told to continue our informal debate preparation. This week (25-29 Jan), we started the class on Monday by continuing to make the group PPT about robotics invention. The inventions that my group choose are ASIMO (a humanoid robot developed by Honda) and AIBO (a robotic dog). Once we are done, we divide our parts to explain and make cue cards to help us for the presentation next Thursday. On Thursday, we present our group’s PPT about robotic inventions in front of the class. Luckily our group manage to explain well. Once our turn is done, we sat down and listen to other group’s presentation about their own topic. On Friday, we were told to write our weekly weekly reflection as usual. Then Mr. Mike told us to open the book file of “The Singularity is Near” by Ray Kurzweil and start reading the book. This week (18-22 Jan), we started the class on Monday by dividing into groups for the term. Mr. Mike decided that my group will get the topic about robotics. Then, we were told to research the timeline of robotic technology development and discuss about it. On Thursday, we continue our research on the robotic technology as a group. Once we are done, we make the timeline that we research on a poster. The timeline poster will be presented during half block later. We practiced our presentation before presenting in front of the class. My group’s turn for presenting is today. On Friday, we continue the presentation for the group’s who hasn’t presented their on topic yet. Once we were done with the presentations. We were told to choose two inventions from our timeline and make a PPT about it with only pictures and few texts. This PPT will be made as a group and will be presented on Thursday. This week (11-15 Jan), we started on Monday by introduction at the beginning of the term and talk about what we will learn for this term, which is about non-fictions. We were also divided into groups that will be our group for the term. The topic that my group receive is about robotics.
On Thursday, we watch the movie titled ex-machina. The movie is about a humanoid robot with artificial intelligence that developed its own will and in the end defied her creator. The movie’s message is that we should not rely on artificial intelligence to much because they do not have feelings and human will lose its function and eventually the artificial intelligence will over power them. The movie is related about the non-fiction topic that we are going to discuss this term which is about artificial intelligence On Friday, we were told to make the weekly weebly reflection and put our summary of the movie ex-machina as well. After that, we were told to research artificial intelligence based on our group’s topic. Mine is about artificial intelligence on robots. During this week (23-27 Nov), we started the class on Monday by continuing our Decameron reading or for me, I discuss the class drama plot with the director, Atala. Mr Mike does not come today so we were told to do our work in Biology class. On Thursday, I was absent but I was informed that the students were told to continue either making the disease analytical essay or Decameron reading. Mr Mike also informs that the due date for the analytical essay is pushed back, but as a result, we have to make a report instead. On Friday, we were told to write our weebly reflection at the beginning of the class. Then, we could either continue the disease analytical report or Decameron reading. I decided to continue working on the class drama with the director instead. During this week (9-13 Nov), we started the class on Monday by continuing reading World War Z book and filling out the reading log for it. We also continue making the book report that is due this Friday, along with the five paragraph outline. The same activity is done on Thursday. On Friday, we wrote our weebly reflection and continue what we are supposed to do which is making the book report that is due today by midnight. During this week (16-20 Nov), we started the class on Monday by continuing our short story about the disease we made on Plague Inc and making the plot outline of the story. The same activity is done on Thursday. On Friday, we wrote our weebly reflection then continue what we are supposed to do which is making the short story and submit it by midnight. This week (2-6 Nov), we started the class on Monday by doing preparations for the book celebration play. Me and Atala announced that there will be only one group in the class to make thing easier instead of two. Atala will be the director and I will be the co-director. We make the story planning and how to combine our ideas, also we re-decide the roles for the play. After we are done with the planning, Mr Mike told us to continue the term assignments, which is the disease analytic essay, World War Z book and the fictional story. On Tuesday, the class is changed today because on Thursday there will be IMW, so there won’t be english class. Mr Mike provide us the reading log and we were told to read the Decameron as a tool to help us in the book celebration play. I managed to read some chapters, and I learned that the story is about seven woman and three men who were avoiding the black death by fleeing to a secluded place and tell stories with leaders decided on each day in turn. On Friday, we were told to write our weebly reflection on the beginning of the class. Once we were done, Mr Mike told us to continue reading the Decameron book and write the thing we read on the reading journal. I learned that each day, there will be king/queen of the group that would be the leader of the day and decide the story topic for the story time. I reached the part where its already their fourth day. The language was very hard to understand but I managed to understand the book in the end, thanks to google translate. |
